Kelly & Kim Berg - with our first Siberian Husky,
Holly
|
Hello! We are Kim & Kelly Berg
of Kelim Racing Siberian Huskies. Yes, we are identical twins :)
We fell in love with the Siberian Husky at about age 14. We
started out working for the local Humane Society with dreams
that we would adopt a Siberian Husky. We did end up adopting a
dog... a Shep x,
Loudon.
He was our first 'sled' dog and we will always remember him as
the one who got us hooked on this sport. For quite a few years
we apprenticed under George & Ann Cook of
Alkasiber
kennels. They taught us alot about the Siberian breed in
general, mushing, showing and about various bloodlines &
pedigrees. In early 1998 we brought home our first Siberian
Husky, and the foundation bitch of our kennel - Tsuga's
HollyWood of Kelim (pictured above).
That's the start of Kelim Siberians - our names together.
(Kel-im).Our goal is to prove that the
Siberian can be very competitive in races today. Our race
goals primarily consist of 30 mile races, although we also do
some sprint racing. We also do very limited showing.
In addition to being Mushing addicts, we also
show/raise Maine Coon Cats
and are huge NASCAR fans.
