Yard Overview
Welcome to our Kennel! Our 14 dogs live on stake
outs in our close to acre enclosure. They run 3 times a day as a
pack. All of our dogs can run together, we don't allow them to not
get along with one another. We find this system works very well for
us as any of our dogs can run next to, in front of, behind any other
dog on the team. This is crutial to us as we feel it's part of team
safety. When the girls come in heat they have their own 'heat' pen
away from the rest of the dogs. Keeps the boys more quiet and us
sane! :)

The Main
Yard
We used to have kennels, but recently switched to stake
outs. We prefer the stake outs now over the kennels. The dogs seem to
like to be able to look around without seeing chainlink (us too!), they
really seem to enjoy having their own space, and it's nice to be able to
go through the yard and sit with each dog, we feel they have more one on
one time this way. Our stake outs are set in the woods, providing plenty
of shade. We used a sand base for the floor, which we think is much more
comfortable and easy on their bones and joints than concrete. We know
that our backs and joints are sore after standing on concrete all day at
dog shows! Our stake outs are set up off the ground so the dogs are not
dragging their chains, and each dog house has legs to keep it dry and up
out of the mud on those rainy days. We also find the stake outs are much
cleaner in the winter when we can't hose out. Plus no shoveling doors
anymore!

The
Puppy Yard
Our puppies are raised in a 15 by 25 foot sand floor
kennel. We try and keep our puppies minds busy by giving them plenty of
'things' to play with, like a A Frame, some logs, nylabones etc. We
generally and keep our puppies until they are 10-12 wks. We have also
started 'Free Running' our litters, not only do they love it as they get
exercise, but it helps us evaluate their movement and helps them bond
with us.
