Was winter ever here? If so we missed it!
Looks like we might actually have a season where there are NO
races. How sad and how disappointing! We have only
been on sleds a dozen times this winter and have only
accumulated 500 miles this season. All we can say is next
winter HAS to be better!
We are making some major
changes in our kennel this spring. We have thought long
and hard about all our dogs this winter, and we have decided to
place a bunch of dogs this spring, keeping only the very best
running dogs in our yard. We feel in order to meet our
future goals of fielding two competitive 6 dog 30 mile
teams we need a more unified team in terms of phenotype, mental
drive and ability and overall speed. With a 14 dog limit to our
kennel that doesn't leave much room for error.
Kelly visted Karen Ramstead's
NorthWapiti Siberians
last May and was super impressed with what she saw... which only
hooked us more on her dogs drive, ability and type :)
So expect to see some new dogs in the kennel
this year.
